France is the first commercial partner with 40% of the market. Other exports from Niger, are steered towards Japon (18 %), Libya (15 %), Germany (10.3 %), l'Italy (5 %).
 
The evolution of the economic situation of Niger is commanded at first by the receipts of uranium, but its cotation is decreasing since the 1980s, and by agricultural production, subject to a very unpredictable climate.

AGRICULTURE :
Many parameters still limit the agricultural development: the climate, the irregular rains, lack of water, poverty of grounds, the means to cultivate lands... Only 12 % of the territory are cultivable and only 3 % of lands are cultured. The agriculture makes the quasi-totality of the population live.The production is widely dedicated to the culture of the mil and the sorghum often associated to the niébé bean and in the manioc. The rice develops more and more notably on banks fitted out by Niger. The cotton and the groundnut remain a source mattering of incomes for the state and the farmers. One also cultivates dates, tobacco, wheat, corn...

FISHING :
1 % of GDP. The zones of fishing are along the river Niger and of Komadougou which joins the Lake Chad.

BREEDING :
The big aridities ruined the second economic activity of Niger and decimated a big part of the livestock. Goats: 7.5 millions, ovine race: 3.5 millions, bovine race: 3.5 millions, camels: 417 000.

INDUSTRY :
The main industries of Niger belong to agricultural and food sectors. Oil-works of groundnuts, flour-mills of mil, wheat, sorghum. Breweries assuring the production of local beer and carbonated drinks. Industry of treatment of meat, leather, dairy products. Factories of cotton transformation. Building materials. Small chemical industries.

MINES AND ENERGY :
12.6 % of the GDP
Coal, Uranium (4TH world row and first continental row), important mining reserves: iron, phosphates, lithium, manganese...Mine industries, requesting a huge amount of eletricity, are at the origin of a thermoélectrique power plant in the massif of Aïr.

The tourism is not very run in spite of interesting perspectives. The variety of the landscapes, the beauty of cities and peoples offer an extremely attractive country.
